There was plenty on the line as we entered the track for the final day of the Australian Grand Prix.
After yesterday’s result, Thomas was starting from the front row of the grid in what was going to be a big redemption day for a lot of drivers, including him.
Waters was a few rows back with plenty of work to do as the lights went out in the final Supercars session of the weekend.
Off the line, Randle and Brown had identical starts with the latter taking the lead into turn 1.
Waters stayed on the inside line as he watched a car mount the another in front of him, early down the pit straight.
With both cars making it through turn 1, we saw the biggest accident of the weekend.
The 4 wide cars into turn 1 finally made its mark with Feeney getting turned and doing a full 360, taking out 3 cars in the process.
The team were able to breath a sigh of relief as both 6 and 55 continued on without damage.
With an immense clean up on the hands, the AGP crew did an incredible job to keep it under yellow flag and get the racing back underway quite quickly.
Cam was holing a comfortable position within the 10 after gaining a few positions in the middle of the race.
Unfortunately with some blistering on the tyres he was unable to make much ground in the middle to end of race.
Randle was battling a fast approaching Kostecki and through a clean overtake took the second position away from him.
From there it was a matter of consistency and not throwing away the race to end the weekend on a high.
As the race neared the close, Randle held off the fast approaching field from behind to earn a much need podium position on Sunday at the AGP.

It’s been another consistent weekend for the results we had as a team and on the car 6 side of the garage.
We know we struggled a bit in qualifying which we will work on but our race pace was really strong over the four days.
It was nice to secure a podium at the Grand Prix on Saturday and we will take that momentum into the NZ double header.
#55 Castrol Racing Mustang Driver Thomas Randle said:
To end our week on the podium at the Australian Grand Prix is so special.
Yes it would have been great to get a win, but to secure a podium after yesterday’s result is such a great outcome and help in the drivers championship.
To be able to repay the boys and girls who worked late last night to repair the car is also a great.
I am exited to head to NZ for the two events and continue the hunt for more podiums
