Nothing beats Sunday at Mount Panorama for the Bathurst 1000.

‍

The weather is as perfect as you could have asked. Blue skies and sun beaming down as the drivers started their day with the highly anticipated drivers parade in the tray of a Ford Super Duty.

‍

It was great to see all the Tickford, Castrol and Monster merchandise being proudly displayed around the circuit. The boys made comment of the colours on display once they returned from the parade.

‍

As cars pulled out, the Bathurst air was full of anticipation and anxiety with thousands of people on the grid to kick off Sunday precedings.

‍

On the grid, the drivers went through their last checklist items with the team, grabbed photos with families and begun the switch on mode and jumped in the car.

‍

__________

‍

With the warm up lap completed, the two Gen3 mustangs roared to life and as the lights went out, both Winterbottom and Goodall jumped off the line cleanly.

‍

Winterbottom and Goodall swapped positions into turn one, but then found their lines and settled into their first stints.

‍

1/4 TIME

‍

Main drivers are in the cars and making good ground whilst trying to be tyre whispers in difficult conditions.

‍

Randle clawed back the struggling Woody and made a great overtake on the way up the mountain, set up by a previous strong lap.

‍

At the same time, Cam was running top 5 fastest cars on lap and pulling toward the car in 11th just ahead.

‍

A double driver change then occured with the potential of a safety car after a car was turned at three.

‍

Tyres seemed to be playing havoc across the grid but hurting 55 the most as two sets came back with high degradation that was causing a drop in overall lap time.

‍

MID RACE

‍

By mid race there was not really much playing out on track with no safety cars interrupting the days preceding’s.

‍

Stops were well underway and driver changes were smooth each time the cars pulled into the lane. A big nod to the team for executing multiple clean stops during the race at this point.

‍

Winterbottom and Goodall jumped out of the car for the final time as they completed their jobs for the day.

‍

Both drivers handed back straight race cars in perfect condition and are congratulated by the team and fans with applause as they arrive back in the garage.

‍

3/4 TIME

‍

Theres not much to report as we hit the three quarter mark of the race. Positions were hard to come by and the cars just didnt seem to come into a window that improved our performance.

‍

The engineers did all they can an trying to execute set up changes in the pit stops, but the tyre blistering and overall pace did not seem to be there for the two cars today.

‍

END OF RACE

‍

#6 Waters/Winterbottom: 15th

#55 Randle/Goodall: 9th

‍

As the chequered flag waves at The Mountain, it’s an odd feeling where it just was not the event for our team.

‍

This event has ways of challenging us when you least expect it, but there was no shortage of trying from anyone in attempting to get the drivers further up the leaderboard.

‍

We pack up knowing that we did everything we could and back everyone in on the decisions made throughout the day.

‍

Whilst we leave empty handed, we know there is plenty more to play in the last three rounds as Waters heads in to the 2026 Finals Series.
