Semi Finals at Sandown is underway with two practices in the books for both Main Game and the Autosport team.
The covers were finally off the stunning retro 2007 Castrol livery, and it was a hit all day with the fans who stopped by the garage.
Seeing the Castrol Edge, Orrcon Steele Manufacturing and Ford Banners return to the Sandown event has sparked so many stories throughout the days about the many years ago when it was last seen.
First to roll out was the Autosport program for their two practice sessions after a month off since their last event.
Out the gates, the boys were showing strong times, and the crew were deep into changes to find the ultimate set up.
All in all, there is positive signs from all four drivers who mentioned across the sessions that the cars are close to being locked in for qualifying.
Once the chequered flag waived on both sessions, again drivers, engineers and crew seemed contempt with the results on track and debriefed mid-afternoon to look toward tomorrows early on track session.
DUNLOP SERIES PRACTICE ONE
#5 Reuben Goodall: 12th
#6 Ben Gomersall: 3rd
#55 Nash Morris: 4th
#56 Campbell Logan: 5th
DUNLOP SERIES PRACTICE TWO
#5 Reuben Goodall: 5th
#6 Ben Gomersall: 2nd
#55 Nash Morris: 1st
#56 Campbell Logan: 3rd
With the afternoon rolling around, it was time to roll out main game practice with two punchy practice sessions with only a short break in between.
Practice one went strong early for the drivers, early laps saw them set the benchmark but as the track developed, they dropped just within the top 5.
Throughout the session, times were not improving much up the top end with Randle holding in the top three with a strong time and within a whiff of first.
Waters crew threw some set up changes in the car throughout the session and was holding his place in the ten before just getting pipped by some cars that ran greens late.
SUPERCRARS PRACTICE ONE
#6 Cam Waters: 11th
#55 Thomas Randle: 3rd
With a quick debrief, replenish of fluids and a chance to dry off the sweat, the boys were back in the car rolling out for practice two.
Out the gates, the boys were strong again but wanting some further set up changes made in the car to tweak it up a bit more.
The session went on as planned, the engineers achieved everything they wanted to in their run plans and closed out the session with a set of greens.
Unfortunately both cars were impeded on their outlaps which meant they missed the chequered flag for the final flyer to set a benchmark overnight.
SUPERCRARS PRACTICE TWO
#6 Cam Waters: 12th
#55 Thomas Randle: 16th
We know the times were strong and close to both being in the top five if they were able to get the lap.
We pack away tonight with two race cars that will be further tweaked in the morning ready to qualify.
Autosport is up first at 10:45, followed immediately by main game qualifying.
