The final day of the Supercars Sprint Cup was matched with an upbeat Tickford crew looking to gain as much from the day as possible.

For Waters, it was a matter of finishing the day with a clean car and on the lead lap as that would find himself in strong contention to secure a finals berth.

‍

Randle came into the day looking to push the consistency that he has found in the last few rounds and close out QR strong.

‍

Lastly for Gomersall, his positives yesterday were matched with plenty of learning opportunities that he looked to continue to develop it into the last day.

‍

Once morning formalities were completed, it was time for the boys to prepare for their final qualifying session of the weekend.

‍

Rolling out, there were strong lap times from both Waters and Randle who set consistent sectors that saw them well within the cut-off line.

‍

Gomersall went strong early too, sitting around 15th and looking strong throughout the first 8 minutes of the session. Unfortunately, there were a couple behind who just went one stronger and he missed progressing by two tenths.

RACE 28 QUALIFYING:

#6 Cam Waters: 8th

#55 Thomas Randle: 15th

#5 Ben Gomersall: 20th

With a small 10 minute turn around, the crew quickly threw some fuel in the car and geared the #6 Monster Energy Mustang up for the Top Ten Shootout.

‍

Flying into the first few corners, Waters was on the limit as the TV showed him sliding out of turn two into the back straight.

‍

The middle part of the lap was exceptionally quick, setting a purple marker against the previous two times listed on the board.

‍

As he turned the final corner, it was clear Waters delivered a lap consistent of where they thought the car was.

‍

RACE 28 TOP TEN SHOOTOUT:

#6 Cam Waters: 7th

As the final race of the weekend rolled around, the team took its final pre-brief aiming to gain valuable data and points to close out the Sprint Cup.

‍

Off the line, all three drivers jumped well and held their positions through the first couple of laps. Gomersall took off in a blinder, making up 3 spots as he begun his third lap.

‍

As the race developed, there was not much else to report as the cars were just missing that extra pace we had been searching for all weekend.

‍

Gomersall was in some heated battles throughout his race, unfortunately being budged off track or into unfortunate positions on a number of occasions.

‍

The crew once again did a mega job in the pit stops, building on the confidence and pace as they also prepare for the Enduros.

‍

At the chequered flag, we saw three straight race cars that gained valuable data, points and momentum to finish up Sunday.

‍

RACE 28:

#6 Cam Waters: 8th

#55 Thomas Randle: 11th

#5 Ben Gomersall: 23rd  

‍

With the final race in the books, Waters had punched his qualification to The Finals in 2026, a massive achievement to lock away pre the Enduro Cup.

‍

Whilst we usually pack up after Sunday, there was little to do as there is still plenty of things happening at QR next week.

‍

Our Enduro test day and a ride day means the team will remain in QLD for a couple of extra days.

‍
