Another early qualifying session for the Dunlop 2 series which rolled out to blue skies.
Dalton and Gray once again duked it out at the top as they continued to push their Ford Mustangs to the limit across the mountain.
Morris returned to his more recent known form and solidified a P3 starting position for the race in the afternoon.
Goodall had a slight error of judgement when he rolled back to the fast lane and broke the rear wing after making contact with the pit wall.
It was an incredible effort from the team to get it back together and just hold on enough for 1 last flying lap. He delivered a strong time when it mattered most and jumped over 10 positions.
RACE 2 QUALIFYING
Car #6 Lochie Dalton: 1st
Car #55 Rylan Gray: 2nd
Car #5 Reuben Goodall: 5th
Car #222 Nash Morris : 3rd
When the lights went out for Race 2 of the Dunlop Series, there was a clean getaway for both Dalton and Gray off the line.
As they approached turn one, Morris was flying through the gap after a perfect launch from P3. There was no stopping him as he committed strongly to his position and took the lead as they headed up mountain straight.
Reuben also had a great launch and made sure that the car in P4 knew about his presence, following bumper to bumper into the first corners of the lap.
Unfortunately Morris’ great start came undone at the bottom of Conrod as he had a small lock up and ran wide. It was and opportunity that was not going to go begging for Gray as he swooped past and took the lead.
Meanwhile Reuben gave the car in front of him a hell of a race as he did not leave the rear bumper alone whilst throwing in overtaking moves throughout the race. It was just a little short of the pace he needed to gain that position and came home in a respectable position.
We leave Bathurst securing a massive bag of results for DS2:
- 2 x pole positions
- 2 x race wins
- 2 x front row lockout
- 2 x podium lockouts
- Round podium lockout
In addition to the results at the mountain, there are two more major wins form the Dunlop Team. We secure the teams championship and at least 1 of the Tickford drivers will secure the driver championship.
This is an incredible feat by the whole Tickford Autosport team who have been nothing short of dominant since day 1 of 2025.

There was not much between practice 5 and 6 with drivers sharing seat time and tweaking their final set ups ready for the Top 10 shootout.
When the chequered flag fell for practice 6, Car 6 and 55 had serious pace across the top of the mountain, setting the 2 fastest times of the last session.

Top 10 shootout - the true test of driver, car and Mount Panorama. The cars are dialled in to be as aggressive as they can be and the boys left nothing out there this afternoon.
Randle was the first to leave pit lane to tackle the mountain for his first ever Bathurst 1000 Top 10 Shootout.
There was little slip into turn 1, but Randle was quick to straighten the car as he headed toward turn 2. The rest of the lap there was no fault from what was shown on the TV and he set the benchmark for the field.
Clearly the track was causing some issues with most drivers having issues into the first or the last turn of the circuit. Randle was able to knock away the first few drivers and held onto provisional pole.
As Waters left the lane, it was another moment of calm within the garage as he got the car where he needed to ready for his flying lap. Cam put an unbelievable sector across the top of the mountain, with fans and commentators in awe of the pace he took it at and securing 3 tenths of a gap from the previous four runners.
With the other cars hitting the track, Waters time stood strong holding provisional pole. Randle had been knocked down a couple of spots but still provisionally off the second row.
As the final car took off and begun the lap of Mount Panorama, it was clear that there was a challenge to Cam’s time. Kostecki was putting together a great lap that pipped Waters by a tenth.
A huge effort from the guys to put together massive laps that saw them gain positions from the qualifying session.
Tomorrow we race the great race and hope all our fans can support the boys as they tackle the mountain
