As the sun sets in Perth, we leave with six straight race cars and plenty of data to take into the next round.

The day kicked off under the brisk morning sun with the boys jumping into the pit lane for a signing session with the fans before they went into pre-brief the upcoming qualifying session

‍

Whilst that was on, the Autosport team made their way across the bridge to set up for their morning qualifying session, hoping to take some momentum into their final day on track.

‍

As the pit lane opened and cars rolled out, the guys hit their straps straight away, parking well in the top ten on their first set of tyres. As they pitted for a green set, the pace didn’t stop, taking the times across the top of the leaderboard.

‍

Whilst the times showed an even lap time for Goodall and Love, the specific timing meant Goodall missed pole by 0.0006 seconds, the closest margin in Dunlop Series history.

#6 Ben Gomersall: 4th

#55 Nash Morris: 3rd

#56 Campbell Logan: 5th

The focus then switched to main game as Waters and Randle rolled into the garage to kick off their day.

‍

Rolling out, the first part of qualifying was a tight session as both guys delivered a lap that pushed both drivers above the cut off line.

‍

With the boys back in the garage and ready for the second phase, it was business as usual with the boys delivering lap after lap.

‍

QUALIFYING RACE TWENTY FIVE

#6 Cam Waters: 4th

#55 Thomas Randle: 9th

‍

For the top ten shootout, the sun came out and the anticipation was in the air with the Perth fans eagerly awaiting the show.

‍

Thomas went purple and green in the first two sectors and looked on for a strong lap, before being a little too keen on the last corner and locking up which hurt his lap time.

‍

As Waters rolled out, he begun with a green first and second sector before a blinding last corner down the hill to purple and jump to provisional pole. Unfortunately, he was done with the last car in the shootout, although still started on the front row.

‍

#6 Cam Waters: 2nd

#55 Thomas Randle: 8th

‍

For the Autosport race, the boys were in a good mindset and knew they had strong packages, it was just on them now to execute.

‍

Off the line, Goodall and Nash jumped incredibly well, both sitting first and second heading into the second lap. Logan and Gomersall also jumped well and avoided the chaos of turn one.

‍

As the race developed, there was not much change in the field as the race became a little bit of a follow the leader scenario.

‍

Heart rates spiked as the TV showed a beached car, and the safety car bunched the field back up again ready for a restart.

‍

The boys did well to hold their nerve and the leaders took off and held strong in the closing minutes of the race to end their weekend.

‍

The double round podium is a highlight of the weekend, with a big congratulations going to Goodall who scores his first win in the Dunlop Series.

Closing out the day was Race 25 for the main game and the last chance to throw everything at a session to close out the weekend on a high.

‍

Off the line, Waters made a great jump, although Feeney held strong an ultimately just had the better line leading into turn one. Randle a couple of rows back was also strong, but the outside line was just a little under paced heading into the first part of the lap.

‍

During the first phase, of the race the guys held well with some pace coming ot the drivers as they were hoping.

‍

As the race developed there was not the gains the team was hoping and it was a management game of extracting the best results they could from the final race.

‍

Credit to the crew who did four very clean and fast stops across the last race, a great improvement from the previous days hiccups.

‍

At the chequered flag, there were slight feelings of disappointment but ultimately plenty learnt on the track to take into the rest of the season.

‍
