We arrive to the track fresh off a fantastic evening in townwith the boys jumping on a Waka and paddling their way to the signing session.

The crowds were there in droves and not even a smalldownpour wavered their commitment to grab a signature from Waters and Randle.

As we rolled into the track this morning, it was eyesforward on starting the weekend off seeking improvements following the resultsof Taupō.

Practice was a chance to test a range of different set-upsin both cars and running long and short stints. With only the one practice, itwas difficult for the team

to test the full array for what they were after, butwhen looking to the field, many struggled with finding the balance of the car inthe sweet spot.

This track has shown its hand early, with displays of justhow fine the run-off areas are. Many drivers discovered the non-tarmac areasthroughout the 3.33 km circuit, that smothered the track and covered the crispair with a dusty cloud.

PRACTICE ONE RESULTS

#6 Cam Waters: 15th

#55 Thomas Randle: 7th

With practice wrapped, the boys went into a deep debrieflooking to see what the learnings were and optimising set ups for the upcomingqualifying session.

Qualifying was the usual two-part session, with the top tenat the chequered flag progressing to the next stage.

Car #6 and #55 rolled out strong initially, with decenttimes put on the leaderboard. Unfortunately Waters had a deleted lap which puthim to the bottom of the

timings. With him sitting in pit lane for a quick tyrechange, there was only a chance for one last flyer to try and step back intothe top ten.

As the chequered flag fell, it was an excruciatingly closemiss for Randle and Waters wasn’t too far behind either.

QUALIFYING RACE TEN RESULTS

#6 Cam Waters: 14th

#55 Thomas Randle: 11th

As the focus shifted to the race, the boys took a moment toprepare the race package that would roll out in the afternoon’s main event.

When the lights went out, it was full throttle into turn one.Off the line both drivers jumped well with a few rows back kicking off immediateaction as three cars

came together.

There was some confusion early as the safety car and yellowflags were displayed through the third to fifth corners, this caused a lot ofcars to check-up and

damage bodywork.

Radio comms went out to call for all clear green flag andthe cars roared back to life in the middle part of the circuit. Randle was unfortunatelycaught up in the

chaos and dropped a spot whilst Waters jumped a few positions inthe early stages.

As the race developed both cars had strong pace and weremaking gradual gains in the field to both be on the brink of the top ten.

Both stops were executed to perfection so there is a lot ofcredit that the team deserves for continuing to put up strong stop times.

In the closing stages of the race, Randle was caught by atrailing car which just bumped him from the top ten, whilst Waters was unableto chase down the car in front to further solidify his place near the five.

RACE TEN RESULTS

#6 Cam Waters: 7th

#55 Thomas Randle: 11th

Whilst the results were hard fought and not where we want tobe, we do take a step back and see the gains made overall from the day. We get threemore chances to go better and the drive to achieve such is still there as wechase some silver wear before we leave New Zealand.

We are back at the track early tomorrow, kicking off with a driver signingsession in Merch Alley.
