A slow Friday for the team at Queensland Raceway with two practice sessions on the schedule in the mid afternoon.

The drivers took the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing morning at the track, getting through pre-brief and media appearances before knuckling down for their preparation.

As Practice one started, it officially marked Ben Gomersall as a Supercars starter, rolling out the #5 UNIT Racing Ford Mustang on track.

‍

For Waters and Randle the practice sessions were an opportunity to test and learn plenty, trying to find better pace than what we had here 12 months ago.

‍

Gomersall ran exceptionally well across the two sessions, getting clean stints in as the team hoped and spent some time well inside the top ten when on a green set of tyres.  

‍

There is plenty to debrief as the sun sets over QR, with a quick turnaround in the morning before we get into the important qualifying sessions.

‍

We start on track at 10:00am AEST with qualifying for Race 26.
