Rolling into the final day of the Darwin Triple Crown had the team filled with anticipation for the big day ahead on track, but there was also concern for Randle as the team sought out his wellbeing.
We were relieved to see Thomas walk into the track in the morning, and whilst he was not 100%, he was still able to crack a smile and chat with the fans at the morning signing session.
Waters was still very much in the hunt for the Triple Crown, only sitting five points behind Allen who was leading the round points.
For the Autosport crew, it was a great chance to continues yesterdays momentum and hunt some space on the round podium.
As the Dunlop Series hit the track, all eyes were on the timing charts as the boys rolled out strong initially.
Unfortunately, Gomersall suffered a starter motor issue which meant he was unable to complete a lap under green tyres. Nash did a mega lap, missing out on pole by 0.092

With the Main Game crew preparing for the final qualifying of the weekend, Brad and the team were with Thomas and Cam preparing their bodies for the gruelling temperatures ahead.
As the boys jumped in the cars, the crew were dialled into both cars and were confident with the pace in delivering a strong result.
There is not much to report for the qualifying with Car #6 doing completing each lap to perfection and progressing to the Top Ten Shootout.
For Thomas, the pace was there although his previous days heroics were hindering his ability to get everything out of the car and he just missed the shootout by a tenth.

#55 Thomas Randle: 15th
For the shootout, Waters rolled out second last and flew down the 1km straight and was green in the first sector. Following this he set two purple sectors and went up to provisional pole by over a tenth.
As Payne begun his lap, there was a quiet calm in the garage with all eyes glued on the screens watching the sector timing.
Waters timed his walk into the garage perfectly as he arrived at the engineering table for the final sector which went as we hoped and Waters collected his second pole for the weekend.

The Autosport team then geared up with the goal to g one better than yesterday and bank some good points.
For Gomersall, it was a day to forget as his unlucky run continued, picking up an early flat tyre which sent him to the back of the field.
The battles on track were fierce and the boys were battling amongst some of the toughest conditions they will have all year.
Closing out the race, Logan secured second position and won the round trophy for Darwin. An incredible individual effort along with the team effort of having that car show great speed all weekend.
Goodall did a great job recovering yesterdays issues and took home a trophy as well.

Following qualifying, Thomas returned to the medical centre to be reassessed after he got out of the car not feeling 100%. Within the window he spent in the centre, in the hands of Dr. Carl and our team members, Thomas made the call to remove himself from the afternoons race.
It is very commendable for Thomas to be back at the track and completing the qualifying session and we fully back his decision as tough as it would have been to make it.
With Thomas no longer competing, it was decided that contracted Tickford Racing driver Mark Winterbottom would step into the seat.
There are not many people who could step up and compete at such a short notice, especially when it was about an hour before the race, but Mark is absolutely someone you want in your corner for this exact situation.
As the lights went out, Waters jumped perfectly again and took the lead into turn 1. Winterbottom started from the pit lane and over the first few laps he slowly clawed the five second lead the field had in front of him.
The team did a mega job on both pit stops for both cars, and again it was critical to ensure we gave Waters the best chance of securing a win.
Toward the end of the race, the team knew that the third place for Waters was about as good as the race pace in the car was. With that in mind, Waters did everything to keep the field behind and hold the three position lead to Allen.
All the hard work paid off as Waters crossed the line in third, securing another podium and the Darwin Triple Crown. The Triple Crown win is the first for Tickford Racing, and it feels incredible to have the team rewarded after a difficult couple of rounds.

We leave Darwin feeling amazing as a team, the hard work put in by everyone has allowed the turn of form and walk away with trophies and pole awards is always fantastic.
We will continue to look after Thomas in his recovery from his ordeal on Saturday. We have the right people within the organisation as well as the support from Supercars to ensure he is right for Townsville.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by the garage over the weekend and showed support, as well as those from home watching the great effort by the team.
