As it came time for qualifying for Race 25, Ipswich allowed the sun to shine in a fast paced session forthe whole grid. Unfortunately, the guys just missed the chance to put one more lap on the board in what was a quickly developing track and missed the cut off for part 2 of qualifying.

Eyes then moved to focus on what would be a race of clawing back critical positions in the final outing of the Sprint Cup. With the grid set, both drivers had great starts and shifted some positons early. Then Ipswich decided it was not quite done with the wet weather, and threw down a 4-5 lap sprinkle that just fell on the line of all drivers remaining out and racing.

Tom pitted early and the team did a mega effort in getting him back out in great time, whilst Cam ran with a longer first stint. With a car ending up in the gravel not too much later, the one and only safety car of the day was deployed. This gave an opportunity for Cam to come into the pits twice in 2 laps to complete the required stops for the day and he even ended up jumping Kai to continue leading the race.

As we returned to green flag racing, Cam took off building a solid lead and Tom battling his way through a couple of cars to continue climbing from 19th position. Ultimately Feeney just had too much pace and caught Cam with about 15 laps to go and he brought home the car in 2nd for a much needed turn of luck for the team. Tom did well to claw a few places back to finish a strong 15th for a tough afternoon in the mid pack with little clear air.

"Well it was a terrible day up until the final race where we got a podium. It was a great call by the team to run long and luck was on our side as we took advantage of the safety car.

The car just did not like the dirty air and when I got the chance to run in some clean air, it responded well and allowed us to be in a good position."

"Well some luck had to go one way within the team after the weekend that was. Unfortunately we just got stuck in the midfield and not a great chance to run some clean air.

A test day coming up before we head to The Bend. Roll on the Enduro's!"

Dunlop Series

The Dunlop Series closes out a strong weekend with a double podium and a double round podium.

It started with Nash Morris leading the way, just getting done at the final moment but secured a front row start. The rest of the team had strong laps for the race later that day.

Dry running for the Dunlop Series Race 2 offered up some fantastic racing as the lights went out. But, it was another race that was stuck with a long saftey car stint after a car needed recovering. All the drivers managed a few chaotic laps towards the end and a great result for Nash Morris to lead the way for Tickford. A round where Rylan extended his championship lead as we head to Bathurst.

That wraps up a character building round in Ipswich as we say goodbye to the Sunshine State for another couple of months. We head to The Bend in South Australia next in September!
