IPSWICH, Queensland | Ben Gomersall has today pulled the covers off to reveal his #5 UNIT Racing Ford Mustang at Queensland Raceway.
The Queensland local makes his Supercars Championship debut this week in a Tickford Racing Wildcard entry, as part of a three-round program with the Campbellfield team.
Gomersall currently competes in the Dunlop Series with the Tickford Autosport team, securing three race podiums in 2026 and more recently a round podium in Perth just a few weeks ago.
He lines up this weekend on his home circuit looking to build momentum into the Ryco Enduro Cup where he will partner up with fellow Autosport driver Campbell Logan at The Bend 500.
The return of the UNIT Racing brand to Supercars has been long awaited after supporting various drivers in the Supercars Championship throughout the previous decade.
Last seen as naming rights on a Main Game car in 2021, the UNIT Racing brand has continued with smaller sponsorships across the Championship in recent years.
Additionally, the brand has been supporting Gomersall in various categories that he has raced around the country in recent years.
Trans Am, TA2 and more recently Gomersall’s Tickford Autosport Ford Mustang have all sported the recognisable brand, with this weekend’s livery bringing the Unit Racing blue to the front to pair with the matte black base.
Supporting the Gomersall entry are many of the partners who are on board his Gen2 Ford Mustang in the Dunlop Series.
Gomersall will hit the track for Practice 1 on Friday afternoon, officially marking his first career round start in the Supercars Championship.
#5 UNIT Racing Driver Ben Gomersall said:
I am really pumped to be making my Supercars debut at my home track in Queensland this week.
There has been a lot building to this point and I cannot thank those enough who have supported me along the journey to get here. I am feeling really good and want to just get everything I can out of this weekend.
The car looks great and the Tickford Racing team have done an incredible job to get the #5 UNIT Racing Mustang ready for this week.
Cant wait to get in the car on Friday and just get the weekend underway, racing in front of so many friends and family.
UNIT CEO Kamal Sarroff said:
We are very excited to see the UNIT brand back on the side of a Main Game Supercar and supporting Ben in his Supercars debut.
This was the perfect opportunity for us to once again increase our involvement in a sport that we love so much, and the car looks even better in person. We cannot wait to see it rollout around Queensland Raceway on Friday and across the weekend.
Ben is a fantastic athlete and individual, and the UNIT team are right behind him as he jumps in the #5 UNIT Racing Mustang this week.
