The sun was out for a change in Melbourne and the vibe of the team was positive as we rolled into the first qualifying.
A different strategy from the team banked on late running in part 1 of qualifying, unfortunately this meant that the track development was not there for Randle and it was set to start today’s race from the rear of the field.
Waters on the other hand did what he needed to progress through to the second part of qualifying.
As we ran into the second part of qualifying, Waters once again delivered a lap that held him just inside the cut off to run in the TopTen Shootout.
QUALIFYING RESULTS
Cameron Waters #6 – 10th
Thomas Randle #55 – 22nd
TOP TEN SHOOTOUT RESULTS
Cameron Waters #6 – 9th
When the race rolled around and the drivers had their last chats with engineers, there was a true sense on delivering consistent laps to improve both starting positions.
There is not much to draw from the race which was safety car free. A chance for the team to sit and really reflect and look to Sunday as a last chance opportunity to progress to Adelaide.
RACE RESULTS
Cameron Waters #6 – 12th
Thomas Randle #55 – 16nd
A copy of today’s format will play out tomorrow for the final day at Sandown Raceway. Track action kicks off at 11:20am local time.
