As the sun came up over the world famous Mount Panorama, there was excitement within Pit Lane as the day had finally come for the Bathurst 1000 race. Today marked the final round of the Ryco Enduro Cup and there was a lot on the line for the team aiming to secure a strong result and a double finals berth.

With warm up complete and the cars receieving their final tweaks, it was a short countdown before cars rolled out to the grid in preparation for the Great Race.

On the grid, it was a warm sun that was shining down on the cars and drivers and a strong breeze coming straight off turn 1. The formalities concluded, anthem was played and it was time for the drivers to have their final chats with engineers before they jumped in the car.

When the grid cleared and the drivers sat at the start line, there was a collective holding of breath within the team to ensure a clean first few laps and the drivers delivered that. Both Moffat and Frosty got off the line well and held their own through the first few laps of the great race. Further back in the field, Dalton jumped well and gained a spot within the first few laps.

As we ticked through to the 20 lap mark, we begun to see some strategy calls from the other teams with early stops, driver changes and posiitons changing within the field. It was relatively clean racing from all up until this point as well, all three cars celaring any trouble and put in the laps they needed to in the first stint.

There was always the threat of rain from the start of the race and whilst it did not seem likely when there was blue skies at lap 1, it well and truly became a reality. With a wind change and light deminishing, there was a real sense of the change in weather that was about to come thorugh.

The rain came through lightly as the first few laps of the wet weather saw the field tackle mount panorama on the edge. Cam had an incredible battle with Brodie across a couple of laps, fighting for the lead position that involved banging wheels and bouncing off each other.

When the team elected to do a driver change for car 6, there was an issue with the belt buckle as Frosty jumped in which meant a longer stop than what was hoped for. The highs and lows of the mountain were truly in full effect with the car returning to the rear of the field in chase of getting back to the top of the leaderboard.

On the other side of the garage, Car 55 was consistently going through as it needed with clean stops and hovering just inside the 10. With choas on the track and incredibly difficult conditions, both Moffat and Randle continued to show their professionalism and deliver consistent lap times.

The Wildcard team were also holding their own a bit further down in the field, to think that Dalton and Gray had already completed 10+ hours on track, they were handling the pouring rain and immense pressure extreemly well.

Whilst we didn't have the track position we had hoped for across the field, we knew that there was a long race ahead and nothing was over just yet. This came true as safety car after saftey car was sent out as carnage ripped through the field with failed car parts and crashes across the top of the mountain. With these, Frosty and Cam were able to get back on the lead lap in chase of getting back up the top of the leaderboard.

As the rain continued to pour, all 3 cars were chasing what was a lead pack that was just too out of reach to put us in the battle for the win.

When the chequered flag fell, the team managed all 3 cars across the line in 1 piece and on the lead lap. It was a time to sit back, congratulate the wider team on a commendable effort but also to reflect briefly on what could have been.

Whilst we leave the mountain with results we were not after, we take the positives that we had fast cars and straight cars that are ready for the quick turn around to the Gold Coast. Plus, Randle secures his place in the inagural finals series, a key milestone the team set out at the start of the year.

We thank all our partners, members and fans who watched at the track and from home over the weekend. The support your provide us continues to push as as we head into the back end of the year.
