It’s race week as we head West on our second longest trip of the year, gearing up for the Perth Super440.

‍

The trucks departed Campbellfield on Saturday morning, beginning the trip over to Western Australia with countless tools, spare parts, engineering stations and more importantly, six cars.

‍

Leaving Townsville, we had two Main Game cars in one piece which was a relief to the crew with the quick turnaround logistically.

‍

On top of that, we had another round demonstrating really strong pace across both sides of the garage that we will look to replicate this weekend in Perth. Thats not to say we did not get it all right, there is still plenty to fix up and we take each session as it comes to look at how we can always get better.

‍

Waters holds a solid position within the Drivers Championship, sitting in the window higher than where he was last year. Townsville brought him closer to the front pair and still in touch of third position.

‍

For Randle, it was an even more positive swing in regards to points as we near the end of the Sprint Cup. He took out over 100 points from his gap to tenth position in his hunt to get back into The Finals campaign and he gets three solid chances this weekend to further cut down that lead.

‍

We also welcome back the Dunlop Series in Perth as they reach their halfway point of the season. The boys have tested during the week at Winton, with their crew putting in long hours over the back half of last week prepping the cars to be packed.

‍

Whilst there are usually not many changes to a Dunlop Series weekend schedule, there is this week in Perth. The boys will have the chance to show one lap pace with the reintroduction of the top five shootout and whilst the pressure will be on, the team will be doing everything to ensure all four cars feature in both shootouts over the three days.

‍

It is very tight within the Dunlop Series Championship with the Autosport crew currently leading the Teams Championship and the boys hold a position within the top six of the Drivers Championship.

‍

As we look to Wanneroo Raceway and its history, the track has shown just how brave you have to be around the 2.42km circuit lap after lap.

It’s short yet fast-pace layout requires pure focus to throw moves at corners that may not allow for an overtake. This makes qualifying incredibly important to make sure you’re up the front to avoid having to overtake during the race.

The action we’re bound to see in the Main Game is only going to be amplified in the Dunlop Series with their shorter races. The weekend will mean we may return home with some broken panels and rims with some scratches, but that’s all in the name of racing as the team looks to load up the trophy cabinet once again.

It’s great to have two really solid rounds but we’ve been working hard to keep that momentum going in Perth.

‍

I love going over West and we usually go well there as a team so I’m excited for the weekend.

‍

Hoping all the hard work between rounds will pay off and we can get some more trophies.

The last couple of rounds have been strong steps in the right direction for us.

‍

As a whole it felt like everything clicked in Townsville and for me personally it felt like I was back and I had found my feet again.

‍

For us it is just taking it race by race and focussing on executing everything as a team.

‍

Perth always offers good racing and with our qualifying form trending in the right direction, we will be using that to put us in the best position for the three races this weekend.
