It was a steady start to the day for the team with the sun beaming down on Sandown raceway as Supercars did not hit the track until just after midday for the first of two practice sessions.

It was a sight to see as the #55 Castrol racing rolled out in the sunlight, safe to say foot traffic outside the Tickford garage today was pumping as excited fans young and old wanted to see the return of the Larry Perkins livery.

Whilst we may have thought the high curbs had been left on the Gold Coast, there was a subtle reminder that caught a couple of the drivers out early.

‍

Randle and Waters punched solid times between both practice sessions today. Both drivers opting for tweaks along the way in what will hopefully roll out strong tomorrow morning into qualifying.

We also welcomed Austin Cindric to Australia today. The NASCAR driver who will race in Adelaide in the Tickford Wildcard hit the ground straight away once he got to Sandown this afternoon.

‍

A couple of hot laps with Cam to kick off his Gen3 expereince we're an opportunity for him to see the track and provide some context for the weekend.

‍

As the sun started to set, he jumped in the drivers seat for pit stop practice and gained some more valubale insights on day 1.

‍

It all kicks into gear tomorrow as we head to qualifying for the Saturday race. Track action for the main game starts at 11:50am local time.
