Composite Technician

About the Business:

Tickford Racing is an elite team in theSupercars Championship. The team runs six Ford Mustangs across two Supercars Championships and is responsible for the design, manufacture, build and maintenance of each of its race cars. The team is housed in a large bespoke facility based inMelbourne’s outer northern suburbs, Campbellfield.

 

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Composites Technician to join our highly skilled and established Composites Department.

The department is responsible for the manufacture and repair of composite components, which supports Tickford Racings fleet of 6 Supercars as well as a variety of other customers across different industries.

Our modern and well equipped facility houses our purpose built laminating room and Autoclave.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

·      Mould preparation / production

·      Hand and power tool usage

·      Lay-up & Lamination

·      Plug and pattern making

·      Product repair filling and fairing

·      Structural repairs

 

To be considered for this role, candidates must obtain:

·      Relevant qualifications within the field, Current Cert 4 or BITO Qualification

·      Experience in composite and fibre glass component manufacture and repair

·      Experience in mould making from patterns

·      Understanding of lay-up schedules in carbon fibre, Kevlar, fibreglass materials and mould making

·      Excellent attention to detail

·      Intricate hand skills
